Since 1911, IWD belongs to all who care about gender equality. Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to forge gender parity. All IWD activity is valid, that's what makes IWD so inclusive.

Orkney Partnership for Action Against Gender Based Violence and Abuse

The Orkney Violence Against Women and Girls Partnership are hosting FREE Personal Safety Training for Women, facilitated by the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety.
This full-day course provides women with practical self-defence skills alongside comprehensive theory, with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and tailored advice. Adaptations can be made to ensure the course is accessible for participants with disabilities.

This course is highly beneficial for frontline workers or staff who may work alone or enter homes and other vulnerable situations as part of their role.

It is a multi-award-winning, empowerment-focused and trauma-informed Personal Safety course, combining expert-led theory with hands-on self-defence training.

Sessions are available on:

9th April 2026: 0930-1630
