Exploring understanding of Child Sexual Exploitation and Domestic Abuse, encouraging empathy and change through shared stories.
Forth Valley 16 Days of Activism are proud to host Myra Ross from www.spiderintheglass.com with her impactful and powerful story telling events that raise awareness, spark converstaion and provoke thought around gender based violence.
Join us in Falkirk Library if you would prefer to be in person and have space for discussion afterwards.
The story of the Spider In The Glass – The Abusive Relationship – Domestic Abuse has reached thousands across Scotland. This time we will look at the experience of the abusive relationship through the eyes of an older child. The story will explore how the abusive relationship is the “glass” in which crimes of childhood sexual exploitation are often perpetrated and how gender based violence shows up in the world of child protection.
Through her unique, narrative-based approach, Myra helps audiences connect emotionally with the lived realities behind the issue — encouraging understanding, reflection, and collective action. Myra tells the stories from the perspective of the person being harmed and we would encourage people to think about their own emotional safety throughout the session.
We look forward to seeing you there!
